Customer Review: Big Boys Still Like Toys
My son turning 13 didn't want to get only clothes this Christmas 07' so I found this great gaget perfect for big boys fun. Can use this indoors if you have a cathedral cieling. The soft exterior is pretty saft too. Outside play is even better, just watch out for windy days. : Spinmaster Air Hogs
Customer Review: Great little gadget
This is great, I purchased two for each of my two adult children:-)...,my husband and father and they loved it. They take it out side and this litle item goes up very high. They are having a blast with it. I would recommend this for the kid in everyone. I have even had a blast with it. You have to be careful with it, as it is made with styrofoam and it can break if you let it crash to the ground. Great toy! : Spinmaster Air Hogs

Spinmaster Air Hogs - Air Hogs Reflex Micro Helicopter Pro: Orange/black/silver

Air Hogs Reflex Micro Helicopter Pro: Orange/black/silver | Spinmaster Air Hogs | Take this pocket-sized helicopter for a spin indoors or out. Features six-way directional control with left and right, up and down, twin rotors for stability, twin drive props for precise directional control, sled-style landing gear and flies indoors. LIPO battery and charger included. Measures 6"L x 6"H. : Spinmaster Air Hogs
Customer Review: Fun if you don't get a defective one
I started out my RC helicopter hobby by buying a Air Hogs "Havoc" model... a cheaper, lighter, more unstable, model with with no forward or backward motion control (but still lots of fun!) So I decided I wanted to upgrade to a model with more control and stability. The Air Hogs "Reflex" seemed to be the answer. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

So here's what happened when I first got it. After wrangling it out of the package (the packaging sucks and you literally need the jaws of life to open it ) I actually read the instructions (for once in my life). I charged the helicopter up (like it said in the instructions) and about 30 minutes later it was fully charged... or so it seemed. But when I powered it up with the controls, the helicopter would not hover more than a few inches off the ground. At this point I thought that perhaps it needed more charging... so I did what any geek would do: I let it run until the battery was completely dead (as to not evoke the dreaded "memory effect") and charged it once again. This time it remained charging for longer... about an hour. The charging cycle is automated by the way, and it's done when the red light in the back of the helicopter stops blinking. : Spinmaster Air Hogs
After the second charging cycle was done I tried to powered it up full throttle again and this time it was able to fly up about 3 feet off the ground... still very disappointing. To me, it seemed like the battery or motor was not able to provide enough power for full flight. Yeah, my helicopter was a defect... a dud. So what to do next? Well, I could return it and call customer support... but the thought of waiting on the phone for half an hour or more wasn't too appealing to me. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

So being the geek that I am... I decided to modify it. I cut the landing props off to make it lighter and "presto", it flew high all the way up to the ceiling. It flew and controlled as well as I initially hoped for... and flew for about 10 to 15 minutes. Now, I'm not recommending that you do this to yours if you get a defective one... but if you're as lazy and sick of customer service as I am... well, I'll just leave it at that. Also, here are some pros and cons about this helicopter: : Spinmaster Air Hogs

Pros:

-Pretty stable in the air compared to other small RC helicopters (like Havoc). More resistant to small drafts of wind.

-Right, Left, Up, Down, and Forward controls work pretty well.

-Helicopter blades fold upon impact to prevent damage.

-4 Spare Helicopter blades included

Cons:

-Prone to defects. Both me and a friend received defective helicopters.

-Long charge time (about an hour) relative to short play time (about 10 minutes)

-Helicopter blades should be more sturdy... they are prone to chips during crashes.

-It was a bit difficult at first to pop the blades back in if they pop off because the instructions are not very detailed. But they only come off during very horrible crashes.

Customer Review: Fragile
We flew our two constantly all day probably ten flights each and this is a long day watching the charger and pulling it of as soon as its ready to fly. The people who have said its durable just haven't flown it long enough. Our two lasted the one long day before the blades folded on a crash and chopped off the little stabalizer arms that look like tiny footballs on a toothpick. At about $60 for one day of fun (one flown by adults only) it is just too fragile. If anything other than a lifting rotor blade breaks then you're dead because the parts are not available. AirHog offer a whole new bladeless Helicopter for $35 plus shipping. So that could get the cost to $40 per day but you'd be better to buy an AirHog Havoc or a Bell mini. At least they're a lot cheaper and more controlable. Also, don't expect to be able to control the Reflex. Anyone who claims control is ignoring many failed attempts and bragging about one lucky attempt. The self stabalizing main rotors override the ting little thrust motors so you truly have no control. It'll wander around with you fighting it with minimal control until it ompletely falls out of the sky when the battery runs down or it hits something. One of ours flew ~OK and the other was totally unstable. We called AirHog and they said this happens and asked for the serial number and receipt and offered an exchange, it lasted one day. My call: Reflex is the wrong choice. Buy an AirHog Havoc or Bell Mini and get more control and they cost less than half what the Reflex does. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

Spinmaster Air Hogs - Air hogs Robo Recon

Air hogs Robo Recon | Spinmaster Air Hogs |Robo Copter Micro Recon
Customer Review: Totally Rad... My Favroite Toy Helicopter on the Market

The Air hogs Robo Recon flying helicopter is the best toy that I have experienced from Air hogs. The Robo Recon has a great concept. A small flyable toy that can hover, turn left, right, ascend and decline altitude with a touch oh a button. The tiny foam composite of the Heli is relatively durable yet cannot take a lot of impact. At first the Robo-Copter is very difficult to handle. I recommend that you start flying in a soft open room with relatively no furniture and no other people. By the 3rd day of flying, I noticed that the feet from my heli was coming apart. I took some glue and stent 20-40 minuites holding the glue in place. The remote is very easy to use. The throtle is very smooth and there is no need to keep your finger on it. Unlike the havoc heli, the robo recon is very easy to fly. I am able to turn with pinpoint accuracy as well as hover for a very long time. On the tail of the recon there is a counter weight that can be slid towards the main body or back towards the tail to go slowly. WARNING: WHEN YOU BEGIN THERE IS A TENDENCY TO RUN INTO WALLS AND DROP FROM THE AIR. THIS CAN CAUSE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE SO BEGINNERS BE WARE. This is my favorite toy from air hogs and I recommend it to all lovers of the air hogs brand.Air hogs Robo Recon : Spinmaster Air Hogs
Customer Review: OK, not great
In summary, either get a Spinmaster Air Hogs Havoc Heli (Colors May Vary), Spinmaster Air Hogs Battling Havoc R/C Helicopters, or Reflex Helicopter: 27.195 MHz - Yellow. Treat the product links as starting points for shopping around. There are likely better prices. The battling version of the havoc comes with two helis that fly about the same as the normal havoc, so get the best deal. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

OK, robo recon. It's heavier than a havoc, so is a bit more controllable. However, the reflex is more controllable than the robo recon.

I have to hand launch because the landing legs were weak, flexible, uneven, and stuck to the rug. Luckily, they quickly broke off. Flight characteristics were not noticeably changed with the legs gone. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

My plan for the robo recon is to chop up the styrofoam body and maybe stick landing skids on it. Or use it for parts. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

Regardless, shop around a bit. If the robo recon costs less than the havoc, then it is an OK choice. Especially if you aren't shy with the hobby knife. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

Customer Review: This Toy "Bugs" Me
I'm very disappointed in the Spinmaster Air Hogs Havoc Stingers (Blue). I bought it for my nephew since it's something he had on his wish list. It is made of plastic and for what it cost, I had expected it to be a traditionally-sized remote-control toy. Size-wise, the Spinmaster is small enough to fit in the hand of a toddler. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

An adult needs to set up this toy as well as charge the batteries before use. The child can then have lots of fun using it until the battery runs out which is fairly quickly. : Spinmaster Air Hogs

I do not recommend this toy. It's too small and too expensive! : Spinmaster Air Hogs

Customer Review: Had possibilities but got a bum heli
It was fun to fly but never quite worked right even after trim, it was durable and didn't break even after a couple of nasty crashes, i liked the wall charger too, ended up returning it.
Customer Review: Mostly Brilliant
This thing is mostly brilliant. Like other reviewers I cannot stress enough that you *have* to get the trimming right before getting adventurous. Read the supplied instructions carefully and follow the trimming directions. When trimmed correctly this thing will literally hang a foot from your face and barely move. If you buy it for a child, do the trimming yourself before handing it over - and don't expect really young kids to get much out of it. To fly it the way it's done in the commercials, you need to be on the controls constantly; if you expect to just give it full throttle and have it hang like a helium balloon on a string you'll be disappointed. It's a real flying machine and it takes careful and constant control in all directions. Being very light, it reacts to very little air movement like forced air/AC vents, open windows and its own rotor wash when close to a wall.

Pros:

- Very fun and addictive.
- Easy to fly once you get the hang of it. They recommend a double garage or a basement - I fly it in my 20x20 living room with no problems.
- Good flight time (about 10 minutes on a full charge).
- Durable (even a 6+ foot drop on carpet will not damage it and if (well, when) you hit a wall or a piece of furniture the rotors simply fold in).
- Wall-plug charger (doesn't require a base with batteries like other brands).

Cons:

- Long charge time (at least one to one and a half hours; other brands will recharge in about 30 minutes).
- Small radio controller (obviously made for kids, but still...).

The user of these micro helicopters has to be patient... they're easy to fly (certainly easier than a full-size RC plane or helicopter) but still require some ramp-up time. Flying it every two hours or so (allowing the battery to cool down and then recharge) over a couple of days or (long) evenings should get most to a point where they can take off and land on e.g. a coffee table or even their own hand.

Bottom line: Fun, addictive and well built but requires trimming and is not a toy for young children.

Customer Review: Pretty tough
We read a couple of reviews suggesting that this helicopter toy breaks easily. Actually, we found it quite tough. We crashed it a number of times, but nothing was ever damaged. It just "takes a lickin', but keeps on ticking."

After about six or eight crash flights, I got the hang of it and succeeded in a number of very good, lengthy flights.

I am age 68. My twentysomething son liked it a lot, and flew it with considerable skill.

Give it a try.

Radio Flyer Classic Wagon - Aero Ace Blue/Gray Jet Fighter Channel B Air Hogs R/C

Aero Ace Blue/Gray Jet Fighter Channel B Air Hogs R/C Remote control is easy to use with directional yaw control to make plane go four directions up/down/left/right! Crash resistant plane with flexible construction is just the right type for a beginner! Plane is already assembled.. just plug in your own 6AAA batteries and go!
Customer Review: Aero Ace : 3 Models REVIEWED --Highly Recommended!
In the past two weeks I've purchase All 3 Aero Ace models. The bi-plane, fighter, and this one the Jet. I also, own the mini-Storm Launcher. Of all the years I've purchased 'affordable' flying toys. These are by far the best ever! Myself, my wife, and two kids(9 & 10) are all able to fly all of these with just a little effort, and no previous experience.

This model, 'the jet', is probly the fastest(needs a little more space), handles higher winds well(as compared to the others, seems to prefer a little wind) climbs well and soars downward like the space shuttle, to a perfect landing everytime, just let off the controls. This one tends to require a bit more throttle than the others and therefore kills batteries a little quicker, 6AA batteries gets 6-10 charges, depending on quality. Charging takes longer as batteries die. Typically a 20-30 minute charge yields 12-15+ minutes of flight time. Full throttle all the way gets the 12 minutes.

These things gain 'lift' at full throttle and settle into a nice cruise at lower throttle levels. Cruise and sail about and you'll easily stay up over 15 minutes. Again, this one needs about half throttle to stay aloft. The 'jet' model has a moderate chance of soaring away from you, but it will gently land when out of range, though it'll go awhile.

*****Also, TAKE NOTE - I would not recommend putting the decals on. All three models flew best WITHOUT the supplied devals. The planes are colorer/patterned out of the box. The decals seem to only add weight and drag. However, they probably will add some structural support. I have not found strenth to be a problem, we've crashed all of ours hundered of times, they continue to survive, undamaged with only surface blemishes.

I'm telling you this model flies well! I can just throw it straight up into the air, hit the throttle and it'll stall, level out, and take off.

Just as note: by contrast, the other two Air Hogs Aero Ace models, the bi-plane, and fighter;

the bi-place is the slowest, but flies great. Just trugs alog like a fling tank. Handles higher winds well, this one stays up the easiest with no effort, just full throttle. Doesn't cruise as well as the others. Nice acrobatice(jet plane, is hardly acrobatic, though manueverable) Will not easily get away from you. Let off the controls and it spirals slowly downward.

The 'fighter' is he the best soarer. Has ALOT of lift, mine must 'cruise' at the lowest throttle setting only(throttle on these things seeem to have about 6 steps) Anything higher than level 1 on the fighter and it climbs altitude quick. also, a headwind will cause the same effect with no control, be careful. The fighter model will soar away from you the easiest, even when you let off the controls. The wind will take this one away. By far the most acrobatic and manueverable. This is the hardest to fly in my opinion. Delicate throttle control and light, pre-streering is required and compared to the other Aero Ace's. Not the best for beginners. Stick with the bi-plane or jet.

A quick note here about the mini-storm launcher. Similar to the others with a few key differences. 1>It has wheels, it can take off and land. Also, works in snow(NO WATER). 2>Flies like a flying carpet. handles winds well, reasonably controlled, yet wobbly flying. It is fun. Will not easliy soar away. Takes 8AA batts(instead of 6)Takes 10 of so minutes longer to charge.

Hope this helps everyone choose the right plane for them. These are the experiences gathered as my family and myself enjoy these wonderful toys. My children tend to fly them as much as possible. GREAT FUN!! All spectators passing by have been impressed. Especially when I tell them the Price $$$$$ 29.99. Can't be beat!

We fly these in about a half-acre of space at minimum and find that
1-1/2+ is really nice. Bi-plane works best in small spaces and the more wind, the more space needed!

Havoc Helis are rated "Easy To Fly," which means with a little practice, anyone can pilot these like a pro.
Customer Review: Lots of Fun
Not the easiest thing to fly and they do kind of have a mind of their own but a ton of fun. You definitely need a large room (preferably with high ceilings) to get the best out of them. Great toy for both little and big kids.
Customer Review: Air Hocs are great fun
My pre-teen boys have had a blast with these toys! It's not often you can find really fun toys for boys 8 & 11. These hit the mark. The tail blade is a bit weak, but if the company will replace that we'll be fine (we haven't asked yet). These really develop a boy's eye-hand coordination - or for that matter, even his mom's!

Customer Review: good...ish
well, the storm launcher is tons of fun to fly, but... 1. the battery is not included so you have to buy this battery 2. the battery takes hours to charge but only lasts 10 minutes, if you are not flying the storm launcher i recomend that you buy MULTIPLE batteries if you are planning a nice fun day flying the storm launcher in a park
Customer Review: Horrible Product
This battery is a JOKE!!! You charge it for four hours and you are lucky if you can get 5 minutes of flight time before the battery dies. A disgrace, as is the junky plane made of styrofoam. You pay $100 for a toy, it would be nice if it flew for more than five minutes and didn't break into pieces on every landing.
